I understand that the Society has undertaken a program of repairs and restoration to the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead (the “Structure”), now located on Towner Lane ( the “Premises”) to restore the building and to convert it to a museum for the Town of Oxford. 

I understand that there are dangers and risks involved in the repairs and restoration work. These risks include, but are not limited to, the risk that there may be defects and dangers in the Structure that are seen or unseen, and that they may cause serious personal injury to me if I am on the premises. 

I also understand that there are dangers and risks arising from the actions of contractors hired by the Society and of other volunteers that are seeable or unforeseeable, and that either may cause serious personal injury to me if I am on the Premises.

I also understand that without my agreement to the terms of this Release from Liability, I would not be allowed on the Premises.

Therefore, in consideration of my desire to repair and restore the Homestead for use as a museum for the residents of the Town of Oxford, I agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Oxford Historical Society, Inc., for loss or damage, including any loss or personal injuries. I agree to hold the Society harmless from any and all claims, suits or demands by anyone arising from my use of or presence at the Premises including claims of NEGLIGENCE on the part of the Oxford Historical Society, Inc. I hereby release, and agree that I will not sue the Oxford Historical Society, Inc. for money damages for personal injury or property damage sustained by me while at the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead, even if due to the NEGLIGENCE of the Society.
