St. Peter's Church Records: "Benjamin U. The Chester Smith Homestead is # 137 in Early Houses of Oxford (available from the Oxford Historical Society, Inc.)   It  was later occupied by his daughter who married Benjamin Beach, a Cheshire soldier who was killed in the Civil War.  There are many notes in Elijah B. Treat's diary of days when he "worked at Authelia's" -- apparently a kindness done for the Civil War widow. Authelia was a near-neighbor of Harriet Crittenden Chatfield.
