March is Women's History Month. This month we will feature 100 photos of Oxford's women through history. Today's first photo shows Tania Jitlow Poliakoff sledding with her dog on Hemlock Trail in Oxford. Both her parents were scientists who lived in New York/New Jersey, and summered in Oxford's Russian Village area. (Caption info and photo courtesy of Sue Purcella Gibbons) The second photo shows Olga Jitkow mixing cement for the foundation of house on Hemlock Trail, 1930s. (Photo courtesy of Sue Purcella Gibbons) Today's final photo shows Leila Treat and her horse as photographed by Alfred Harger in Quaker Farms. Notice the chickens running loose in the barnyard in the rear towards the right. Leila was the wife of Harold Treat, and the mother of Robert, Alvin, Carleton and Alice.
