March is Women's History Month. This month we will feature 100 photos of Oxford's women through history. Today's first photograph is of either the 16th Annual Banquet of the American Legion Auxiliary, or possibly the Gold Star mothers. The second photo shows Oxford School Cafeteria workers at the opening of Center School, originally named "Oxford Consolidated School," because it replaced all the district one- and two-room schools. The final photo is a Loretta Dempsey photo of children all dressed for Easter Sunday, 1944. The girls all look happy to be dressed in the new outfits. The boys don’t look quite so enthusiastic about being dressed up and photographed.
