March is Women's History Month. This month we will feature 100 photos of Oxford's women through history. Today's photos are all from the late Beulah Renker. As the daughter of Cyrus Shelton (Oxford's tax collector for 50 years, a state record), Beulah loved this town and supported the Historical Society in many ways. The first photo shows her sister, Jeannette Shelton, Marion Rowland and Beulah enjoying an afternoon playing together. The second photo shows Beulah, left, and Olive Allen, right, selling their African Violets at a sale held in the old Center Fire House, now replaced by new firehouse in the same location at 484 Oxford Road. The final photo is of a picnic of the graduates of a home nursing course held at the home of Beulah Renker in 1943.
